This is where the fun begins! The pre-session consult consist of a meeting or conversation to get to know each other. This is when we will work together to create the mood for the session. Your session style will help define the overall creative direction for the shoot. This includes wardrobe options, props, color palette, hair and makeup etc... This meeting/conversation is very important in the process because this is when I get to know your personality and style to make your session unique and all about you.

We had a great pre-session consultation so we are ready! If you are doing your own hair and makeup, allow plenty of time to get ready before your session to avoid unnecessary stress. Avoid bold makeup and keep it natural unless otherwise decided during the design meeting. Hair and makeup should be ready when you arrive at the studio. If hair and makeup is included, come in with a clean, makeup free and moisturized skin. Your hair should be clean and dry ready to style. A simple mani/pedi in natural colour is ideal for your session as hands are very important in the posing process. Avoid bright colours on your nails as we will have to remove before the session.
The session is already planned out and we discussed wardrobe options for you to bring along, usually 3 to 5 looks to choose from for a full session. I advise that you bring a nude strapless bra and thong as well as a black one. Bring along any gowns, lingerie or accessories you may have to make your session unique. If you are doing your own makeup, dont forget to bring your products for touch-ups.
Absolutely! It is my job to make sure poses are flattering and show your beauty. I will do so in a gentle and efficient way, guiding you throughout the session to make you feel comfortable and beautiful. I also like to include prompts and more candid poses to show your personality.
The best time to schedule your maternity session is between 28 and 36 weeks. Bear in mind that this will vary with each women but ideally, we are looking for that window of time when your belly is nice and round and you feel great!
Get plenty of sleep the night before and eat! Have a great, healthy meal before the shoot and plan for snacks during the session. Also drink plenty of water. Avoid anything elastic around the belly a few hours before the session. These will leave marks on your belly. Don't forget to pay attention to your underwear! Beautiful lingerie, boy shorts, sexy bras, these all look great on pregnant mamas, especially if you plan on having semi-nude/wraps images. If doing your own makeup, plan to keep it natural and finish your skin with powder to avoid reflections. Also, have your hair looking great!
